Making Your Own Iced Coffee

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

I love a good iced coffee from Starbucks, I cannot always make it to a Starbucks especially right now since all the coffee shops are closed due to the current Covid Pandemic. I prefer to have cold coffee during the warm months and cold coffee during the cold times of the year. My friend Kristofer loves cold coffee year round and does not understand how I can drink coffee hot.

I had to look it up online to see how I am suppose to make cold coffee thinking that there was some special way you made it and was pleasantly surprised that there is no secret way to make it at all. In fact its quite simple to do. Let me share with you how I make mine.

If you have been following my blog for sometime you know that my favorite way to make coffee is with a french press. You can read the blog post on the french press here. I simply make my coffee with my french press as I usually do and allow it to cool down by placing it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or so until its cold enough for me.

However, before I even make the coffee I place milk in an ice tray like I am making ice cubes, but in this case instead of water its milk. I use these instead of regular ice cubes made with water so that it serves the dual purpose of providing creamer and cooling down the coffee even more. I like to add sweetener as well.

You can drink the cold coffee as you like it. You can even purchase the flavoring syrups to add a littler different flavor or even freeze the flavored creamers like I did the Milk. Try it and let me know what you think in the comment section below this post.
