3. HISTORY PAST AND PRESENT = TIMELESS ELEGANCE
After Doug and Kim Roehl's daughter found out the venue desired for her wedding day was already booked, they decided to renovate Doug's parent's barn to host the reception and dance. The summer project of cleaning resulted in more work than anticipated. Though the barn had been vacant in recent years, loose hay, round hay bales and sawdust had to all be removed from both the mow (bottom floor) and loft (upper level).

Many hours of hard work with the help of family and friends resulted in a look at the original floor, which hadn't been seen in over 50 years. Since the floor wasn't level, a new floor had to be laid over it. Also, over 100 years' worth of dust and debris had to be pressure washed from barn walls and the barn "ceiling." The couple was careful preserving the barn's original structure while bringing it to the present with electrical updates for lighting. Windows for natural light and a bar for entertainment were added to it which brought out the barn's timeless elegance.

4. WONDERFUL PHOTO OPPS
It's easy to leave COVID-19 worries behind at Rustic Occasions. The beautiful country setting offers wonderful photo opportunities. Props available at the venue including a vintage truck bring out the rustic charm desired in photos taken at barn weddings. Again, decorating can be done as much or as little desired outside the barn as well which can also elevate those barn wedding memories in photographs taken on that special day.

5. ACCOMMODATES SMALL GROUP EVENTS WELL
Rustic Occasions doesn't restrict itself to weddings. This venue accommodates small group events well. Local 4H group Lads & Lassies held an event last fall for Halloween. A dairy breakfasts that focused on Father's Day took place at the venue as well in June 2018.
