When I changed my wardrobe I went back to the basics. First, I had to take a look at what clothes I had in my closet and decide which items I did not really need anymore. I began taking stock of which items that I really did not wear anymore or have never worn. I also had to take stock of who I was and how I wanted the world to see me. The clothing that I decided to get rid of went to Goodwill.
I believe that clothing is a form of expression. It shows to the world who we are. It expresses who we are on the inside. I had to take a hard look at what I wanted to show the world. For me, I am a person who likes to dress comfortably, appropriately for the occasion. I like to dress casually on most days in jeans or when at home my joggers.
My starting point is a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. These fit my lifestyle because I am a more casual person. My preferred style of jeans is either a slim fit low waist jeans or skinny jeans. If I am buying skinny jeans I like to get a jean that is one or two inches larger than my waist so that I have some extra space for my man bits. As far as color and I like a light color like khaki and dark denim, but I do also have other colors.
I would suggest that you buy jeans in colors that suit your skin color, tastes, and the rest of your wardrobe. Depending upon your skin color some colors of jeans may better suit you than others. You must also consider the rest of your wardrobe and what colors may work with what clothing you own already. Unless you want to purchase an entirely new set of clothing you need to look at what colors of jeans will coordinate with the rest of the clothing that you already own.
I have several styles and colors of jeans in my closet that I like to wear. Most of my jeans are either a slim fit or skinny, however, I do have a couple of loose fit jeans that I wear on occasion.
I love a good t-shirt, and I have several styles of t-shirts in my collection. I, however, prefer v-neck t-shirts versus crew neck. If I want to dress it up a bit I will wear a polo shirt. My favorite polo shirts are from Ralph Lauren. They never seem to go out of style and I have several styles and colors to choose from.
In the Midwest, weather changes so much during the day that I will add more layers if I do not want to wear just a t-shirt or if the temperature is cooler outside. I will often wear a light sweater over a t-shirt or a vest and sometimes both depending on the temperature outside. My favorites are from the Banana Republic which is cashmere or a nice sweater from American Eagle Outfitters. A sweater can be worn with a t-shirt underneath or button-down shirt. Sometimes I like to wear either a hoodie or a vest depending on the weather outside
My favorite vest is from RuffHewn. I love the jacket. It keeps me warm and comfortable without making me warm. I love this company because they are environmentally conscious. The Company is going through some changes right now and will be presenting a new line soon. They are making it a goal to produce clothing that is manufactured in an environmentally friendly fashion using eco-friendly textiles.
On days that are colder especially during the winters here, I prefer to wear a pea coat. My favorite pea coat is from form Forever 21. On rainy days I will wear my waterproof jacket from Tommy Hilfiger or the lighter jacket from Columbia Sportswear. If it is colder and wet I will layer the waterproof jackets for warmth.
If I want to dress it up a little more I will wear a long-sleeve button-down shirt instead of a t-shirt and pair it with some dress shoes such as an Italian loafer. My favorites are a light brown pair of suede shoes from Salvatore Mann. Accessories are a great way to add to your look. My favorites are watches and bracelets. My go-to stores for clothing, shoes, and accessories are HM and Kohl's. Both stores have great clothing, shoes, and accessories at reasonable prices. When you wear more casual clothing such as a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or polo shirt an athletic watch looks great or perhaps a great bracelet such as those from Marssos.
During my search for new clothing for my wardrobe, I came to realize that you do not have to spend a lot of money. The first place I began my search was in the retail department stores. If you know when each season begins and ends you can get some deals on end of season sales. The two majors seasons in the retail world are spring/summer and fall/winter. The spring/summer season begins in January and runs through June. The fall/winter season goes from July to December. At the end of each season, retail stores begin marking clothing down. This is the best time to get great clothing at better than full retail prices.
Another great place to find great clothes at reasonable prices is the resale shops. The key is the location. You will find better clothing in neighborhoods that are able to afford good clothing. A list of good resale shops can be found by following this link Resale Shops Milwaukee. I have found some great clothing at resale shops. My favorite resale shop in Milwaukee is the Goodwill on N. Oakland Avenue. I would suggest that you visit the resale shops multiple times during the month because items clothing items come and go.
