The new year has arrived and so has the newest fashion trends for 2020. I have noticed over the years that fashion trends come and go over the years with trends that occurred years ago come back in style again. For example, one trend that has come back in style is the flared jean more commonly known in the 1960s as the bell bottom
After a great deal on my fashion websites such as Trendspotter or Stylecaster, I have found a great many sites predicted the same trends on each site. I have found five trends that are my favorites. I will show you the trends and then give you some ideas on where to purchase the items.
Here are my favorite trending fashion for Spring/Summer 2020
1. Crossover Body Bags
These remind me of the fanny packs which were popular in the 1980s and 90s. The big difference is that instead of fitting around your waist it is slung across your body with the strap going diagonally across to the opposite shoulder from where the bag sits at your waist. These bags are perfect for a day out. I love them because I can use them to take what I need when I go hang out at the coffee shop with my friends. I can carry a tablet or my phone and surf the web while I am people watching. My favorite bags are the messenger bags from Gucci, but places like Zara, Nordstrom, and Asos.
2. Monochromatic
The Monochromatic look is defined as maintaining continuity in your outfit by using different shades of the same color. It is not necessarily using the same shade of any one color. I remember when I worked in the shirts and ties in the men's department at Dillard's Department store when Regis Philman was wearing a suit in which the shirt and tie were the same shade. That is what monochromatic was being defined as.
I love the look because, in my opinion, it looks clean and sophisticated
3. Tie-Dye
I am usually a person who favors shades of gray and blue, but I think that a pop of color makes you stand out. This season everything from t-shirts to pants and shirts is in tie-dye. I think that dressed head to toe in tie-dye is a bit much for me. I would suggest that if you are going to add tie-dye to your wardrobe add a shirt or t-shirt and not the entire outfit. This way you have a little color and not it's not overwhelming
Tie-dye became popular in the 1906s but was around as early as 1941. Saturated primary colors and bold patterns are characteristic of tie-dying. Tie-dye is hitting the runway this season from designers likes of Versace, SRS Studio, Dries Van Noten and are found at stores like
Our version of tie-dye as seen below is not necessarily bright colors and does not dominate the entire shirt or in these pants as seen in the first photograph.
4. Oversized Sunglasses
Since I tend to gravitate towards shades of gray, black and blue my statement pieces are my accessories like watches, wallets, bracelets, and sunglasses.
This year oversized glasses are in style. I love sunglasses because they not only protect your eyes, but they also can make a statement of their own and this year's sunglasses definitely make a statement. They are not for the faint of heart.
5. Sheer Tops
These tops are for the bold and brave. Whether you want to show off that chest or abs or your tattoo. These are definitely not a shirt that you wear to work. These shirts will get all the gay men excited and the ladies drooling.
I would wear this shirt out to the club by itself with a nice pair of jeans or upgrade it with a suit jacket. Perfect for that vacation in the tropics as well. You can purchase a sheer top from Topman for 39 dollars from Nordstrom. Asos also has sheer tops as well which are inexpensive. You can check the shirts out at Asos.
These are just a few trends in men's fashion that are hot for the Spring/Summer fashion season 2020. You can go check out all the trends for the spring/summer season at Style Caster.
