Why do I Write My Blog?

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

For many people writing is a chore that they find difficult put off until the last moment. For a student, it is an assignment that they need to complete to pass a class or for others, it is a part of their job. In my case, writing is a passion. I write because I want to. It helps me to explore the world around me. To see things that I may never see if I did not have a reason to get out there and explore.

It gives me the motivation to educate on many subjects such as food and travel. I do not claim to be the expert on all subject matters, but I do know where to find the information. I write this blog for all of these reasons and much more. I write this blog because I want to share the world love for the city that I live in. In my opinion, the Midwest especially Milwaukee is looked down on because people see it as a city with nothing to offer.

Milwaukee has a great deal to offer both the visitor and local alike. There are a great many things for a person to see in Milwaukee. We offer something for everyone. Once I began to explore this great city that I live in I began to realize that it has a lot to offer the visitor and local alike. It is filled with things that can go see depending on your taste. Whether you are a sports fan or you enjoy seeing your favorite music group the Fiserv Stadium is the venue to go see it at. The Fiserv Forum is home to the Milwaukee Bucks and the Marquette Eagles. Sporting events such as the American Cup will be held here as well as music greats like Elton John will also perform here this year.

Perhaps you are more of a theater person. The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts has a wide variety of theater productions that you can see as well as music to enjoy in a wide variety of genres including classical and jazz.

Those who love to eat Milwaukee has a great many restaurants each offering their own taker on whichever type of cuisine that they specialize in. Along with a huge variety of cuisine, there are a great many neighborhoods that we could talk about. For the sake of the great lengths that it would take to share with you each restaurant, I will mention a restaurant or two in each of my four favorite neighborhoods: Downtown, Third Ward, Bay View, and the Eastside.

The Third Ward is very close to downtown Milwaukee and has some excellent restaurants and bars. Cafe Benelux serves a wide variety of breakfast foods which they call brunch along with delicious lunch and dinner choices. They also have an option to rent a LUX Dome during the winter which allows you and seven guests to enjoy rooftop dining during the winter under your own private dome.

Bay View is the up and coming new east side. I was able to find a new restaurant there that I liked very much called Hungry Sumo. It is a fusion of several Asian cuisines including Thai and Japanese and also has a large selection of sushi for you to choose from.

In the downtown MKE Ale House is my favorite restaurant to eat. It is a micropub that serves a wide variety of bar food like pizza, hamburgers, and fries. The restaurant also has a variety of other dishes and large salads and of course, it has a wide variety of beer and alcoholic beverages for you to choose from.

Because of my passion for Milwaukee and writing, I was able to discover that we had a Milwaukee River Walk in our downtown which extends to several other neighborhoods connecting them to each other. I also discovered that there is an organization called MKE Sculpture whose goal it is to bring artwork from around the world to Milwaukee so that all of Milwaukee can be exposed to different art forms.

I have done a lot of exploration in 2019 and some in early 2020. Come join me in this journey and explore Milwaukee with me as the year goes along Subscribe to my blog and experience this journey at my side.
