It is finally January 2020. The beginning of a new year for everyone. Traditionally most people welcome in the new year by making resolutions to change things in their lives. Whether it be to lose weight, quit smoking or going back to school.
I have chosen to make several changes in my personal life. This is the last year that we will be making our current address home. We are looking for a place on the eastside of Milwaukee that we can call home. Our goal is a 2 bedroom that gives us more room to entertain our friends and colleagues as well as work from home on our businesses.
I am also looking to live more healthy. I am working on getting rid of several bad habits and replacing them with new ones. I want to get my bike fixed and ride it more. It will get me some exercise and be easier than running. I have begun to realize that my work does not give me enough exercise. Riding a bike is more fun and does not feel like a chore that I have to do and it will get me out of the house to explore new parts of Milwaukee.
I do have several goals for this blog that I would like to achieve this year as well. I realize that in order for me to be able to charge businesses for writing a blog post about their business I have to have a large enough subscribership in order to do this. This year my goal is to have 1,000 subscribers by the end of 2020. I am going to have to think of some creative ways in order to do this. I will be posting flyers in key places around Milwaukee where large groups of people hang out.
Another goal that I would like to complete this year is to have at least 500 or more followers on my Instagram account for this blog. This will also expand my influence. I plan to do this by hosting at least one giveaway with another person from Milwaukee. I have begun to realize that it will be important to reach my local influencers and residents alike.
I am also working on a benefit project for a local nonprofit that will feature local fashion designers, photographers, and makeup artists. I am also working on a project that will be an annual event featuring a different restaurant and charity each year. This is a great way to benefit a local charity and highlight a local restaurant and bring some great exposure to my blog.
I would like to feature 5 to 6 more restaurants this year. I am currently working on something with Mobcraft and Egg and Flour. I will also be expanding my horizons and reaching out to other local businesses such as hotels, salons, and museums. I also want to cover the latest happenings on the Westside of Milwaukee. Another place that I want to cover is the Milwaukee Winter Farmer's Market at the Mitchell Domes.
Come along for the ride and join us on this journey as we achieve our goals and show off this great city of Milwaukee. Ciao!
