I love candles from Bath and BodyWorks. They have so many delicious scents, and they make the room smell so great. They are a bit pricey, but if you take advantage of the sales you can get a great deal. They also make great stocking stuffers for the holidays with a great many holiday scents. My favorite is any of the peppermint scents. The scent makes me hungry and smells great.
I love the candles so much that we go through a lot in a short time had a lot of candle jars with a layer of scented candle wax at the bottom of each glass container. It seemed like such a shame to just throw them away. I got the idea of recycling the wax from each jar from my spouse. He was using a candle warmer to take advantage of melting the wax so that it gives a
Scent while melting.
I decided that instead of letting the essentially burning the wax away into the air I chose to melt the melt in each glass container I allowed the wax to soften enough that I pour it into a single container forming several layers of scents. I began by taking a single container and melting the wax into liquid form. This allowed me the chance to place a wick in the bottom of the container. I then let the wax solidify so that it anchored the wick on the bottom. I learned through trial and error that you should place at least two wicks if not three. If you place a single wick in the center the candle will not burn evenly.
It is important that you allow each layer ample time for the wax to harden. Doing so allows each layer to remain separate from each so that the different scents do not mix together. You should leave an inch or so space at the top of the glass container so that wax does not pour over the side when it begins to melt. Trim the wick sticking out of the wax to about 3/4 inch. The candle. The candle is now ready to go.
You can purchase the wax melter from Amazon. A company called Darice has one similar to the one I used. Come check it out at Amazon. The wicks can be purchased at Walmart or Michael's .
